Take a look at the newest video games for 2013 complied by Get Top Tens.com. Game On!
It’s never too early to start the anticipation for a new game just over the horizon. These ten games have already been released or are due this year, and they all promise to be blockbusters according to Get Top Tens.com.
10. Grand Theft Auto V
The Grand Theft Auto games helped pioneer the open world sandbox genre of gaming. Adventures in high crime, gang warfare and carjacking await players as all the old tried-and-true game elements return. Oh, and you can skydive.
9. Gears of War: Judgment
Gears of War 3 wrapped up the ongoing plot quite nicely, but the first game started in the middle of the war. Judgment takes you back to the events around E-Day, the emergence of the Locust and the start of the war that the rest of the games chronicle.
8. Bioshock Infinte
Bioshock 1 and 2 took place deep underwater in a city inspired by Ayn Rand, where the free market went wild and the people destroyed themselves. Bioshock Infinite takes the series in a whole new direction, with colonial America taken to the skies.
Virtually nothing is known about this game. So why is it one of the most anticipated? Bungie, the creative force behind the Halo franchise, are the developers. On top of that, it’s not a Halo game, so Bungie doesn’t need to stick to the limits of that universe. The hype comes from wondering what they’ll do with complete freedom.
6. Watch Dogs
Watch Dogs is a techno thriller in a world very much like our own. Computers connect everything, from the ubiquitous cell phone to the traffic lights. The protagonists can hack these computer systems to slip in unnoticed or create chaos in order to escape. What is their goal? What drives them? We’ll find out when the game is released.
5. God of War: Ascension
God of War follows the story of Kratos, a Spartan warrior who sold his soul to Ares in exchange for the power to triumph over his foes. When Ares makes him kill his wife and child, he swears vengeance and sets out to kill the god of war himself. All of this is back-story for God of War 1, but is the central plot for the prequel Ascension.
4. The Last of Us
From the makers of the famed Uncharted series, The Last of Us is a similar third-person adventure set in a post-apocalyptic future where a fungus has zombified much of humanity, and those who remain are hostile to just about everyone.
Decades ago, Maxis created SimCity, the pioneer in simulation games. Players create and rule their metropolis or rain disaster upon it. Now they’re creating an all new city simulator, with fresh graphics and much more capability.
2. Bayonetta 2
Bayonetta was a stylish and unique third person action game, with gameplay similar to Devil May Cry. Bayonetta 2 may not be the best game on this list, but it is locked in as an exclusive title for the upcoming Wii U. Could it be a sales-driving killer app?
1. Dead Space 3
Zombie games and space games have existed for a long time, but Dead Space was one of the first to bring the horror of zombies into space. Dead Space 3 promises the continuation of Isaac’s struggle against the alien horror as he attempts to finish it off.
