According to Forbes, the third most expensive zip code is the village of Sagaponack, NY, in the Hamptons. There, a million dollars will buy you Â three acres of undeveloped land.Â A 2,000 square-foot home in East Hampton is over $1 million on less than an acre of land.
On Gibson Island, where the political elite vacate, no property is listed for under $1.9 million. You will also be out of luck in Greenwich, CT, where homes are priced above a million dollars.
Back on the West Coast, in the fifth most expensive zip code in the country, 90210, $1.1 million dollars will afford you a home located on a quarter of an acre of land and just over 3,000 square feet of living space. Atherton, California, a Silicon Valley neighborhood, does not list properties under $1.3 million and most of your neighbors will be billionaires.
